Come and join us on our "Junk Yard Dog" workshops near Milton, Ontario. These 3 hour workshops will be some of the coolest shoots you will be on in 2013...
The Summer Workshop, Under the Stars will present the unique opportunity to light paint the vehicles under the stars. You will get the opportunity to experiment with long exposure photography.
You will be treated with models dressed in period costumes as they move through the junk yard. Your images will produce ghost images in and around the vehicles.
You will also get to really stretch yoru creative side by using flashlights to illuminate the vehicles in the darkness.
The Summer Workshop, Beauty and the Beast is all about the conflict between beauty and the beast.
This workshop will focus exclusively on photographing attractive models dressed in dresses and tuxes as they pose in from of some of the most rusted out vehicles you will ever see. Imagine a professional model with six inch heels on a legs with stockings and a white flowing skirt posing in and around the truck below?
Autumn workshop, Autumn, Models and Wrecks will give you the chance to both focus on the vehicles and fall colors; images that create some of the best HDR opportunites, as well as allowing you the opportunity to photograph models in this environment.
The choice will be yours, and the opportunities you take advantage of will be up to you.
A Photographers Lounge Workshop at the Junk Yard is designed to develop your composition techniques as well as allow you to photograph the contrast of a beautiful model amongst the decaying autos.
You will learn how to look at a scene in frames and appreciate the smallest detail to the panoramic vistas this area offers a photographer.
We will also have an assortment of accessories like the Lensbaby Composer PRO and Muse lens available if you want to take your images to the next level.
Our models will be clothed in various costumes; from the attractive grease monkey look to dressed in high heels and prom dresses to create an atmosphere and scene that a photographer would not normally be shooting unless it was a professional set.
What We Deliver
Our small groups guarantee a great instructor-to-student ratio and plenty of time to answer all of your questions. Our Workshops are like a unique course designed just for you! Workshops typically begin early in the day and run for three hours (unless other wise stated)
What can you expect to photograph while at the Junk Yard?
This working auto wrecker has automobiles as old as 60 years old that have been sitting in farmers fields, pine forests and draining rivers. The area is over 25 acres in size and we have the entire facility at our disposal.
From tractor trailers, to pickups, and enough vehicles to bring back memories from our youth, there is something for everyone to photograph and admire.
These workshops run regardless of weather... unless it is determined unsafe to commute to the workshop. Everyone will receive an email 24 hours in advance of these workshops with weather updates.
How It Works
You arrive at the workshop at the predetermined time. You are responsible for getting yourself to and from the workshop.
During the workshop we will focus on composition, lighting, macro photos and how to shoot with a model in this environment. You will learn how to create more attractive images than you have produced before.
We do not give out the contact information for this facility. This is private property and we have permission to be there as guests of the owner for these workshops only.
The 2013 fee for our Junk Yard Dog workshops are $37.50 plus HST ( a 10% discount is applied if you want to book two of the 2013 workshops at once, a 25% discount will be applied if you book more than two of 2013 workshops at once - contact me for details as the payment option below does not offer the VIP discount )
Not included is your transportation to and from the workshop location. We will send you directions once you register for one of these workshops.
A minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 participants are our numbers for one of our Junk Yard Dog Workshops ensures quality instruction.
There are no refunds offered 30 days prior to the workshop. If you cancel and can find a replacement for yourself that will be allowed if you notify me.
Anyone cancelling longer than 30 days before the workshop. You will receive a refund less a $5 administration fee.
Who Should Attend
There may be some medium level hiking involved. You should have a moderate level of fitness and be able to hike through forests and fields for extended periods of time.
The photographer that will get the most out of one of these workshops is someone that understands the basic functions of a camera and wants to take their images to the next level.
